District Planning

In December 2020, City Council approved the City Plan. The City Plan combines a Municipal Development Plan and Transportation Master Plan, and includes strategic direction in environmental planning, social planning and economic development.

The second phase of this plan is the release of district plans. Each district plan reflects an individual district’s geography, history, constraints, and opportunities. District plans show where redevelopment will be encouraged at nodes and corridors or where active transportation improvements are anticipated.

District plans are now available on the city website and city administration is looking to hear from you on how you want your community to grow and look!

You can visit the city website and review the district plans (https://www.edmonton.ca/city_government/urban_planning_and_design/district-plans) and then fill out the online survey that is available until October 15th. There are also in person engagements that give you the opportunity to ask city staff questions and to better understand the plans and their impacts on you.

The following sessions are coming up for our ward:

  • West Edmonton District, Wednesday, September 7, 5–8pm at Belmead Community League

  • Central District, Thursday, September 15, 5–8pm at Queen Mary Park Community League

  • Jasper Place District, Monday, September 19, 5pm-8pm at Canora Community League

  • West Henday District, Thursday, September 22, 5pm-8pm at Westview Village Community League

If you have any questions about the process or the engagement sessions please feel free to reach out to my office
