West Valley Line LRT public engagement opportunities
As part of its ongoing commitment to public engagement, the City of Edmonton has established five Citizen Working Groups along the Valley Line West LRT alignment. Citizen Working Groups are a major method of engaging with neighbouring communities during the updating of preliminary design, procurement, detailed design and construction of the Valley Line West LRT. These groups are made up of local, neighbourhood based members whose purpose is to:
Build and maintain relationships and trust
Promote and support community engagement opportunities
Facilitate information-sharing and dialogue
Support the identification of issues, opportunities and concerns
Seek opportunities to minimize and mitigate impacts related to detailed design and construction
You can check out the Citizen Working Group Fact Sheet to see details on each working group and dates for upcoming meetings that are open to the public. Please note the following open house engagement sessions coming up this month
November 15th 6:00-8:30 pm Belmead Community Hall 9109 - 182 street
November 16th 6:00-8:30 pm St. Paul’s Anglican Church 10127 - 145 street
At these drop-in sessions we will:
update citizens on refinements to the Valley Line West LRT preliminary design;
provide results of the recent assessment of LRT crossings at key intersections, including what we heard during previous engagements for the 149 Street and 178 Street intersections; and
gather further public input before options are presented to City Council.
